Pondmaster PMK190 190gph Pump and Filter with Bonus Fountain Head is exactly what I needed to clear that funky split-pea soup (algae-ridden) water in my Shubunkin, Comet and Koi ponds! Simple to use…, Has a very sturdy handle (convenient for lifting the unit out of the pond for cleaning). Takes about 2 minutes to hose off the 3 (very thick) filters and put the unit back in pond. The 190 gallons per hour “pump-suck” is quite powerful and quiet. My ponds were crystal clear in two days. I don’t use the optional fountain head because I have spitters and waterfalls, already — not using it creates a very nice rippling agitation effect on the surface of the pond. Your neighbors will be in total awe. My fish are quite happy now that they can actually see me coming to feed them — and see their food pellets floating on the top of the water. Does what it’s supposed to do. This is my third mag pump. I’ve been working my way up throught the years. My first was 250, then a 500. This is a 700 gph.(They all still work fine.) I use it with a their matching 1 sq, foot filter. You must use an add on filter or it will be constantly clogging. The 700 is perfect for the Bell Type Fountain.

I have been using this pump for about a month, and it has been working well. It pumps a pond at the bottom of a waterfall, through a filter, and into the upper pond. The lift is about 3 ft, so I get about 500 gph for the system.

The pump seems sturdy and well built. No problems so far.

The only issue with the order is that the description said the filter was a foam block, when in fact it was a plastic cage. I don’t have an issue with this because the cage works better in my application (pumping some silt is not an issue).

I have had this pump for about three years now and it has taken a beating and kept on pumping. On its third spring some plant material was sucked into the impeller and ended up breaking it. I just ordered a new impeller for 25 bucks dropped it in and all better. POND MAG is the best. By the way replacement parts are easy to find and easy to change.
